2013 Finnish Engineering Award

Hannu Mäkelä, General manager of Navitec Systems Oy received the Finnish Engineering Award 2013 together with Riku Pulli and Janne Kallio from Sandvik.

The award was granted for developing the AutoMine- mining automation system together with Sandvik’s mine automation team.

AutoMine makes the work at mines safer, healthier and more efficient by reducing the need for personel working underground.

2005 Automation Award

The general manager of Navitec Systems Oy, Hannu Mäkelä, received the 2005 automation award granted by the Finnish Society of Automation. The award was granted to Sandvik Tamrock’s Automine®-system. Navitec Systems Oy has delivered the positioning and navigation of the Automine machines. The award was granted at the Automaatio 05 event at Helsinki Fair Center. Other awarded team members were Brett Cook, Timo Soikkeli and Riku Pulli from Sandvik Tamrock.
